The fall semester of Engineers of the Future is underway in the Washington School District at our four participating schools along the Valley Metro Northwest Phase II Light Rail Extension. Our young engineers are students at Acacia Elementary, Washington Elementary, Palo Verde Middle School and Royal Palm Middle School.
The fifth through eighth graders have been introduced to Engineering Design Concepts and are taking part in a series of hands-on projects.
The students are working with their engineering mentors from PGH Wong Engineering Inc., Valley Metro and Jacobs Engineering, on their transportation projects, that resemble a light rail stop or bus transit stop. The students’ projects will be judged at the Valley Metro – PGH Wong Engineering Inc. Science and Engineering Fair at the Washington School District Office.
